Our Autumn/Winter Menu Has Arrived 🍂

The seasons are changing, and so is the Bloom menu!

We’ve been busy behind the scenes refreshing our Autumn/Winter offering with a whole host of new dishes, desserts, salad-bar additions and drinks — all designed around the same things that matter most to us: freshness, variety, seasonality and food that children genuinely want to eat.

Six New Dishes

We’re really excited to be introducing six brand-new dishes to the menu:

  • Pumpkin or Chicken Katsu Curry

  • Butternut Squash Soup

  • Mr Roberts’ Famous Coconut & Chickpea Curry

  • Hummus & Falafel Wrap

  • Salmon Tagliatelle

  • Quorn or Chicken & Veg Pie

Our Asian-inspired dishes continue to be some of the most popular meals we serve, so we’re especially pleased to be expanding that side of the menu with more choice and more vegetarian options.

And there’s even more flexibility on the way.

We’re currently working on an app update that will allow families to choose the protein for a number of dishes. So, for example, our Miso Soup will be available with either Quorn or chicken, helping us offer more choice while keeping the dishes themselves familiar.

A Little Something Sweet

Desserts have had a refresh too.

We’ve added a lovely Banana & Honey Yogurt Pot along with our new Winter Berry Fro-Yo — both fresh, colourful and full of flavour.

As ever, we’ll continue to keep our desserts fruit-led and look for simple ways to make them both delicious and nourishing.

Super Salad 6 Gets a Seasonal Shake-Up

Our Super Salad 6 is changing with the season too.

Joining the line-up are:

  • Beetroot Hummus

  • Lemon & Lentil Dip

  • Saag Aloo

  • Savoy Cabbage

Alongside our rotating salads, vegetables, pulses and dips, these new additions will help keep the counter colourful, interesting and full of variety throughout the colder months.

Chilled Drinks, Fresh Fruit & More Choice

We’ve also added a rather lovely new water dispenser to the dining hall, which means beautifully chilled drinks for everyone at lunchtime.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be introducing a new range of seasoned waters too, using simple combinations of fruit, herbs and other natural flavours to make hydration a little more interesting. Our Cucumber and Mint water is going to be tough to best, but we do tough stuff all day long!

Our fresh fruit offering is changing things up as well, with more melons, satsumas, grapes and plenty of other seasonal extras making their way onto the menu.

Designed With the Children

One of the things we’re most excited about is where many of these ideas have come from.

During our hands-on food education sessions, the children have been absolutely brilliant at telling us what they enjoy, what they would like to try and what they would love to see on the lunch menu.

A number of the new dishes have been added as a direct result of those conversations.

That feedback means a huge amount to us. Bloom has always been about making school food something children feel part of, rather than something that simply happens around them.

So please keep the ideas coming.

We might not be able to make every suggestion happen immediately, but we’re keeping track of them, experimenting, testing and creating whenever time allows.

And This Is Just the Beginning…

There’ll be a bigger menu overhaul at the end of the coming term, with the next cycle built even more closely around freshness, seasonality and the food children are telling us they want to eat.

For now, the app has been updated and next week’s meals are available to book.

Have a browse, try something new and let us know what you think.

We can’t wait to get cooking.

Fresh food. Curious minds. Growing together. 🌱
