More than a school caterer
A whole-school food solution
Bloom is not simply a catering provider. We work with schools to create a deeply rooted food culture — one that supports children’s health, confidence, curiosity and enjoyment of food.
Through vibrant meals, calm service, practical food education and community-led thinking, we help schools turn lunchtime into something more nourishing, more engaging and more meaningful.
What Makes Us Different?
Fresh, seasonal cookery
We make food properly, using fresh ingredients, thoughtful menus and chef-led standards. Our meals are colourful, balanced, nutritionist approved and designed to feel familiar enough for children to enjoy, while still helping them explore new ingredients and flavours.
Plant-forward menus
We believe children should eat more plants — not through restriction, but through excitement, flavour and better everyday food. Our menus are naturally plant-forward, with strong vegetarian and plant-based options built in as a normal part of school life.
Hands-on food education
Bloom links food and learning. We give children practical opportunities to prepare, taste, grow and understand food, helping them build confidence, food knowledge and lifelong skills. Our daily hands-on food lessons are curriculum linked and are a fun and engaging way to expand minds and palates.
Community-led thinking
Schools sit at the heart of their communities, and food should help strengthen that. We work closely with pupils, staff and families to create a service that feels responsive, inclusive and rooted in the school it belongs to.
Good school food should do more than fill a plate. It should help children feel confident trying new things, understand where food comes from, enjoy eating together and build habits that support them for life.
That belief shapes our entire offering — from menu design and service style to dining environments, food education and community.
“Bloom was founded on the belief that school food should be nourishing, thoughtful and full of care. We are guided by children’s wellbeing, by a strong sense of social responsibility, and by the idea that fresh food can help build confidence, connection and healthier futures. Everything we do starts from that principle: to serve children in a way that feels ethical, exciting and genuinely supportive of their everyday lives.”
